Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)

Who can do this course?

• Anyone over the age of 16.
• Must have GCSE English and Maths A*-C Or Level 2 in Maths and English Functional Skills 
• Learners without GCSE or Functional skills can enrol on our Functional Skills course alongside the Early Years qualification.
• Prior experience in childcare will also be considered.

What you will learn

The course has structured with units around three themes: 

• Theme 1: Health and well-being 
• Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice 
• Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness 

How You Will Be Assessed

The Qualification is gained from your coursework so there is no exam to complete. 

To gain this qualification the learner will need to: 

• Pass all units. 
• Show competence in a real work environment. 

Portfolios are assessed by your tutor.

Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) qualification 

How you will learn

The course is 12 months long. To complete this course you need suitable placement for collecting your work-based evidence for the course assignments. 1 days a week of face to face learning at the college. 

Career prospect

Learners can progress to the Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner or other higher level early years qualifications. 

Learners can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors such as: 

• Assistant in Children's Centres 
•  Practitioner in nursery schools 
•  Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools 
•  Pre-school worker 

Fees and Funding

The cost of the course is £1500 if you wish to pay upfront or pay a deposit of £300 and spread the cost with interest free monthly payments

Advanced Learner Loan  

Or you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of tuition, which you will only be required to repay once you are earning at least £27,000. Call us to find out if you are eligible.
