Security

Licensed, working, and often within weeks

Security is one of the fastest routes from training into paid shifts. Once you hold an SIA licence you can pick up work across venues, retail, corporate sites and events.

Where this career can take you

  1. 01Security officer

    £20,000 to £35,000 a year

    Guarding premises, patrolling, monitoring access and reporting incidents. Needs an SIA licence.

  2. 02Door supervisor

    £25,000 to £30,000 a year

    Licensed to work at venues where alcohol is served, and across retail, corporate and event security.

  3. 03CCTV operator

    No official salary range published

    Monitoring public space surveillance systems. Needs a separate SIA public space surveillance licence.

  4. 04Security manager

    £25,000 to £38,000 a year

    Planning security for a site or organisation and managing the officers who deliver it.
