JFC Training College

Course overview

Prepare for the responsibilities of adult social care with a more detailed understanding of the principles that underpin good support. This Level 3 course explores how care workers respect individual needs, communicate effectively and understand their responsibilities towards the people they support.

The nine mandatory units bring together safeguarding, person-centred approaches, duty of care, equality and inclusion, communication, health and safety, information handling and professional development. These topics help you think through the reasons behind care decisions, not simply learn terminology.

This is a knowledge-based certificate, distinct from the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care. It does not by itself demonstrate practical competence in the workplace or qualify you automatically for a senior care role.

Who is this course for?

This course is for people preparing to work in adult social care who want to study care principles at Level 3. It may suit career changers, people building on introductory care knowledge, or those already in a support role who want to deepen their understanding.

If you are deciding between Level 2 and Level 3, speak to our admissions team about your experience, confidence with study and career aims. If your employer requires a practical, work-based qualification, ask whether the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care would be more appropriate.
